Our involvement as a survey
asset for the Avtex
superfund site in Front Royal, Virginia, required certification for
working within a Hazardous Materials Construction site. Personnel, who
are involved in cleanups at waste sites, including Superfund sites, RCRA
corrective action sites, or even voluntary cleanups involving hazardous
substances, must have 40 hours of initial classroom instruction.
Training requirements for this comprehensive training course cover how
to perform emergency response activities (including hazard recognition,
spill control and containment), and waste site activities (including
site characterization, waste handling and decontamination). The 40 Hour
HAZWOPER OSHA training fulfills the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 (e)
(3) (I) and (q) mandated under the Superfund Amendments and
Reauthorization Act of 1986, including operations at sites covered by
the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and at controlled hazardous
waste sites.
Currently Marsh and Legge
has two survey field crews fully certified and experienced for Hazardous
materials worksites. Both teams, each having unique talents in the
survey realm, cover construction site survey assets for topographic
surveys, construction stakeout, and As-built data collection. |
